In this series we’ll take a journey through Paul’s letter to the Ephesians and you will have the opportunity to learn how to “lead a life worthy of your calling” (Ephesians 4:1). We’ll be taking a look at the big picture — what God has done for us and his master plan for his people — as well as practical, daily ways of honoring him.
“Our mission is to glorify God by helping people experience, know, and follow Jesus well.”
Jesus replied, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Matthew 22:37-39 NLT)
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” (Romans 12:10 NIV)
“Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.” ( Romans 12:9 NLT)
“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” (Colossians 3:23 NLT)
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10 NIV)
John, one of Jesus’ closest followers, tells us in the scriptures that “this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NLT). Did you catch that? God gave for our good. As Christians, we believe God has called us to reflect his generosity, especially as it relates to helping those in need and supporting the mission of the church.
