Food For The Soul: Life With Jesus

Faithfully following Jesus is anything but easy. It's a heart change that is devoted to life change that remains in that life with Jesus. If we are to follow Jesus, then we need to be more like Him in every way.

It takes sacrifice, dedication, self-discipline, self-control, humility and daily surrender to The Cross.

It's knowing we will face ridicule, attacks, being hated, being accused of things, made fun of, denied, betrayed, being used and lied to. It's about denying ourself no matter the circumstance to illuminate the message of God's Good News. It's about taking up our cross to follow Jesus. By taking up our cross, it means we will face pain, heartache, many tears and possibly death.

Jesus not only took up His cross, but carried His cross and died on The Cross for every sinner to obediently complete His Father's will. Jesus didn't live a mediocre life. He was intentional in everything He did and said. His life was all about pointing others to His Heavenly Father, repenting from sin and living a worthy life fit for God's Kingdom. He didn't water His message down with smooth words. He was a flame of truth, genuine love and burning passion that drew people to His light.

Are you living a watered down version of what life with Jesus is truly about? Have you truly taken up your cross, or do you drag it behind you chained to idolatry and greed?
What are you focused on?
What do you value?

The message of Jesus is simple. Repent, for the Kingdom of God is near, Matthew 3:2.

Matthew 16:24
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me.

Have a purposeful kind of day!
Grace, peace & love to all

Food For The Soul:Thoughts

Do you ever have days where you don't feel so strong, possible thoughts of why keep going, or maybe you think you don't measure up to what God has called you to?

Truth is, we all have those days. Those thoughts are not from God. He is not a God of guilt, discouragement or shame. They are either you thinking them or the enemy trying to discourage you. Rebuke them in the name of Jesus. Flee from those thoughts!

Fix your thoughts on God's faithful promises and put them into practice (Phil. 4:8-9). It doesn't matter what we think or what we feel, it matters what God's Word says. What are you choosing to feed your mind and heart?

Philippians 3:14
I (diligently) press on (pursue) toward the goal to (receive) win the (promised) prize for which God has called me heavenward (higher calling) in Christ Jesus.

Have a focused thinking kind of day. May the grace of The Lord be with your spirit.

Food For The Soul: Genuine Love

Genuine love is a true freedom many do not experience. Many use the word love, but express it with hesitation and limits. With Jesus there are no limits and He wants His followers to remove all limits also.

Genuine love is a spiritual covering Jesus commanded His followers to live out, John 13:34. Are you living His command out in your life?

No matter what others do or say, the act of genuine love will choose to give its best continuing to love without hesitation or limits. Just like the genuine love Jesus covered every sin with in choosing to lay down His life at The Cross for every sinner, 1 Peter 4:8, 1 John 4:18. Are you willing to love like Jesus?

Genuine love cares about the welfare and happiness of others. Even through tough times genuine love will not desire to hurt another spiritually, emotionally, mentally or physically. Read 1 Corinthians 13. How are you caring for others?

Jesus didn't focus on what people did or said to Him. He looked and dealt with the soul, because there is no greater love than caring for a precious soul.

When we truly experience the genuine love of Jesus, the love of Jesus will freely flow out onto others without fear, hesitation or limits.

When we put on the attitude of Christ, we live, think and act with the Spirits mind. What attitude are you putting on?

Have a genuine kind of day!
Grace, peace & love to all

Food For The Soul: Prayer

Not only is prayer the most powerful weapon we have, but when we put faith behind it and believe God hears us, amazing things happen. Put prayer to good use by praying for others, for your family, church and Pastor.

God uses our prayers to accomplish His will. He will not and cannot be contained. His Word rules. Trust He is in control. His mercy causes Him to take action. Seek His Mercy!

Power In Prayer! Purpose In Prayer!
Believe in the impossible!
Trust! Faith! Believe!

Psalm 34:15:
The eyes of The Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their cry.

Have a prayerful kind of day!
Grace & peace to all

Food For The Soul: Useful Tools

A ruler is a useful tool. When put to proper use it can tell us how long, how deep and how wide something is. By knowing this, it gives us opportunity to build, repair and create many things.

So it is with Jesus, if He rules in our hearts by putting His tools to proper use in our lives it builds us up, restores and transforms us, 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

Two things a ruler is unable to measure is God's extreme love for us and our genuine love for Him. Only God can measure the heart, 1 Samuel 16:7 & Luke 16:15.

However, God's Word tells us our love for Him will be seen through action, John 14:15 & 23. When we make Jesus our life and put on His attitude, He transforms us with a newness of mind and heart that will be evident to others. The fruits of our salvation and our love for Jesus will be seen by the way we consistently live, think and talk, Galatians 5:22-23.

God's Word says He measures our actions, He weighs them, 1 Samuel 2:3. Whoa!

Our relationship with God matters to Him. Our character matters to Him. Every action counts. How is He measuring our love towards Him and to others? Our obedience? Our humility? Our loyalty? Our faithful devotion?

How is your heart measuring up?

Have a useful kind of day!
Grace & peace to all

Food For The Soul: Joy

Great joy entered the earth at the birth of Jesus, Luke 2:10. He exemplified joy.

Joy is a gift given. Joy is a fruit and it's our duty to attain it.

Joy remains with us through the storms of life because Jesus is joy and our strength. Joy will not spoil or fade and no one can take it away, 1Peter 1:4. Jesus promised abundant joy for those who would ask for it and seek it, John 16:24.

If we remain in Him, joy should come naturally. As we remain in Jesus, we are filled with His strength that produces fruit (inexpressible joy) from Him, John 15:1-10.

A joyful heart is a grateful heart.
Are you seeking the joy of Jesus?

JOYFULLY LOVING JESUS!

Nehemiah 8:10
…Do not grieve (sad or sorrowful), for the joy of The Lord is your strength.

Have one inexpressible kind of day! Grace & Peace
